I'll Be at the PANO Collaborative Conference on September 24
On September 24, I'll be facilitating a session at the PANO Collaborative Conference in State College — a working session called Where You End and the Role Begins: A Working Session for Nonprofit Leaders.
If you've been reading this newsletter, you already know the territory. The session goes to the same place: the question of what's genuinely yours to carry, and what you've been carrying out of habit, or because it never occurred to you to put it down.
This isn't a talk. There are no slides. It's ninety minutes of structured small-group reflection and facilitated whole-group conversation — designed for Executive Directors and senior nonprofit leaders who are ready to think honestly about what they're carrying and what they're ready to set down.
You'll leave with three specific things. A practice for noticing when you're stepping in out of habit rather than necessity. A written account of what you took on this week that was never actually yours to solve. And one thing you've already decided to put down before you walk out the door.
Come ready to think honestly. That's the only requirement.
The conference runs September 24–25 at The Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center. Registration is open through September 20, and sessions are selected at registration — so if you're planning to attend, you'll want to choose your sessions when you sign up. One practical note: the hotel rate holds through August 23. If you're coming and haven't booked yet, this week is the time.
I would love to see you in that room.
